Hilton Watford – Watford, UK

Location

Located a few miles from the M1 motorway with easy access to Central London (Central London is approximately 19 miles by car) Watford City Centre is around 5 minutes drive by car where you can find restaurants, takeaways and the usual amenities. Located a few minutes’ drive away is the brilliant Top Golf for all the golfing fans and kids. You Score points by hitting micro-chipped golf balls at giant dartboard-like targets on an outfield. Games cost around £8 and are a great day out for the family.

Parking

Hilton Watford has its own free car park located on the hotel grounds. You just park up and walk into reception. No additional parking costs were involved in the booking. There was ample parking available.

Amenities

This hotel offers all the usual amenities you would expect from a 4* hotel.  Standard fitness centre etc. No Swimming pool. Hotel has a section near the lobby with a PC for customer use and a printer. Didn’t look the most advanced in the world but was sufficient if you needed to quickly print something.   

Value For Money

We paid £107 per night for a standard room which slept 2 adults and a child on a sofa bed. This is average for the area. There are cheaper alternatives like Premiere Inn etc but for the little extra, we feel the Hilton was a fair price to pay.

Rooms

Rooms were adequate and spacious enough to enjoy. Not too small (like London hotels in the same price range) No balcony but windows that did open which is a bonus. The bathroom was well equipped with the usual 4* amenities you would expect and was in good condition.  On the day we arrived, there was pre-planned hot water work going on which affected the use of hot water during these times. We were only made aware of this during check-in and not prior to arriving. We feel this could have been handled better with advanced communication.

Housekeeping / Room Cleaning

Room was cleaned daily with no issues. Bathroom amenities were stocked up as expected. Usual good service was received.

Service / Staff

Staff at check in were friendly and checked us in OK. No issues found with the service. They directed us as asked and were polite throughout our stay.

Lastly – Would we go back

YES. Although sometimes the price can seem slightly more than other nearby hotels, we do think it offers value for money, the all-round feeling we got was, this is a decent 4* hotel and we enjoyed our 2 night stay. Everything you want is within a short drive away.
