Crowne Plaza Liverpool – John Lennon Airport

Location

The 4 star Crowne Plaza Liverpool – John Lennon Airport hotel is conveniently located just 7 miles from Liverpool city centre, 1 mile from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Liverpool South Parkway rail station

Please bare in mind, the hotel itself is not located on the Airport grounds but it is nearby. New Mersey Shopping Park is just opposite on the other side of the main road. There is a Cineworld Cinema and many good restaurants within the complex.

Parking

The hotel has its own free car park located on the hotel grounds. You just park up and walk into reception. No additional parking costs were involved in the booking. There was ample parking available.

Amenities

This hotel offers all the usual amenities you would expect from a 4* hotel.  Standard fitness centre etc. No Swimming pool. 24 hour reception etc is available as is a restaurant which we did not try due to many nearby branded restaurants available.

Value For Money

We paid £80 per night for a 1 King Bed Executive room which slept 2 adults. This is average for the area. There are cheaper alternatives like Premiere Inn etc but for the little extra, we feel the Crown Plaza was a good price to pay.

Rooms

Rooms were adequate and spacious enough to enjoy. Not too small (like London hotels in the same price range) No balcony.  The executive room offered a slightly bigger size than the standard rooms and a place to sit and relax but not much more than that.

With an Executive room, you get complementary access to the Executive lounge which is well stocked with drinks and snacks and available late into the night. There was no hotel staff in the lounge during our stay but this is most likely as we arrived on a late weekend evening.  All in all, it was a good lounge which we feel is well worth the extra £20 or so as an upgrade.

Housekeeping / Room Cleaning

Room was cleaned daily with no issues. Bathroom amenities were stocked up as expected. Usual good service was received.

Service / Staff

Staff at check in were friendly enough and checked us in OK. No issues found with the service. Nobody went above or beyond to ensure our stay was good. Just check in / check out.

Lastly – Would we go back

YES. Although sometimes the price can seem slightly more than other nearby hotels, we do think it offers very good value for money, the all-round feeling we got was, this is a decent 4* hotel and we enjoyed our 1 night stay. Everything you want is within a short walk.
